Week 12 of 52. Everyday Pinot? Much Ado about Rickshaw Wines.

Today was a Rickshaw Pinot day. I bought it for dinner and then realized that it was a new vintage – the 2013. I liked the 2012 and liked the 2013 but just a little less – seemed more fruit forward in its style.

So what’s to like? Pinot at $15 that is good is a good (and rare) thing. I enjoyed it and was close to calling an impromptu party so that I could have more. Infinitely drinkable. Week 10 of 52. Reality Bites: Life in the “Ordinaire” Lane

When did it happen? When did I become that “selective” type who feels that life is too short to drink bad wine? Still, I haven’t ventured into snob territory – you know, expensive- Napa-cab-or-bust! land – but last minute runs to the local market for wine do fill me with dread.

Backdrop: I have been without hot water for 3 days because of a broken heater that apparently takes a lot of time and money to repair. Oh, in addition, I haven’t slept for like 3 weeks.
